Mike Dvorak is a seasoned data engineer and cloud infrastructure expert with a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University. With over a decade of experience, Mike has carved out a niche in the fields of weather, climate, and air quality modeling, where he combines his deep technical expertise with a passion for environmental data applications.

As the Founder and Lead Developer of Weather Tactics LLC, Mike has led the creation of cutting-edge forecasting systems, delivering next-generation weather and air quality solutions that are both reliable and scalable. His work spans from developing performant applications to managing cloud computing infrastructure, all while guiding teams through complex technical challenges.

Previously, Mike served as an Engineering Manager and Senior Managing Consultant at Ramboll, where he spearheaded the development of advanced air quality models and optimized scientific processes using cloud-native technologies. His leadership was instrumental in transforming legacy systems into agile, cloud-based solutions.

Mike’s entrepreneurial journey began with the founding of Sail Tactics, where he developed some of the world’s highest-resolution wind forecasts, ultimately leading to the acquisition of the company’s IP and customer accounts by Saildrone, Inc.
